I just got in a 4 pack of 69% large packs so I think I will try the salt test first and calibrate them.

Then I'll toss them into a bag with the bovida packs and see if there is much if any difference.

I used to keep my humidor at 70% but I have noticed I prefer my cigars in the 65-68 range.

I think I have everything lined up now to do the big redo so either tomorrow or this weekend I'll be touching every stick in the cabinet and starting the cleaning process.

Re 65-68% that makes sense cuz as I recall you prefer Nicaraguan. Almost everyone says that's the best range for Nicaraguan. Dominican seems better to me at 70%. Honduran more like 68%. Just what I've noticed for my preferences.

These hc mixed wrapper ones (smoking one now) seem to kind of have a split personality, not as you get farther into it like some cigars do, just from the get go. Interesting cigars and good but not great imo.

Very good memory!

90% of my favorite sticks are Nicaraguan.

I do enjoy some of the stuff from the other countries though just nowhere near as often.

I've had very good and consistent results with salt testing, but I ditched the baggies. Use a mason jar, old mayo jar, etc. Let it rest 24 hours. Works well for me....

Timber Valley just discounted out a bunch of Caldwell cigars that weren't selling (along with a bunch of Fuente). They said they've been sitting for probably a year, and the age really helped this already excellent smoke.

And last night on the farm.

Not sure if anyone here smokes machine made, but Backwoods really aren't that bad.

I was going to say something to tease you about that but I'm all for smoke what you like.

Some of the ones I call 'Daily's' and are only maybe $0.50 if that when on sale, I truly enjoy.

Not as much as most of my other cigars but not every drink has to come from a bottle on the top shelf for me either. They are just easier for me to let go early if something comes up and I don't have time to finish it soon after it goes out.

That's why i went with these… they're inexpensive, always available, and just taste good to me. I grew up smoking swishers and black-n-milds so at least it isn't one of those!

Don't think indoor lounges are legal in WA, except for private clubs and reservations. Shiloh Inn by PDX is a lounge I've used several times, when it's too cold / hot for my gazebo. Food and beverages are reasonable, nice place. It is, however, a bar with a cigar area, FWIW.

I don't normally smoke around the family but if there is a slight breeze tomorrow then I may try and sneak a smoke while we light off some leftover fireworks from a big buy a few years ago.

Overall it's going to be a pretty chill day and a lot of movie watching with a stoned puppy.
