What are the roads conditions like on the way in after departing from Highway 26? Do you need a lifted and/or 4x4 vehicle?

Nope. An average 2W vehicle can trek most of the way for the basic shooting spots.

If you were in a sedan you'd be perfectly fine this time of year (no snow) for the first many miles. I have not gone to the very tail end/loops of Salmonberry, so I cannot speak on that. But I've driven quite a bit of it. Unless there is snow, a standard 2W vehicle in my opinion would not have any issues getting around. But during the winter that completely changes and even my truck has slipped without chains in some nastier spots, so be careful during those months: November-Feb: all depends on the weather.
Anyone have a map of Larch areas where we can actually shoot safely? WDFW just lists where you can't shoot....
Thank you!
Hello I was reading about Alex and FFL that was posted. I just purchased a new 1911 from Bi-mart
first time I purchased and used them as my FFL.
I picked out the 1911 that I wanted then filled out all paperwork the serial numbers were written down and waited for them to call but they never called. So I called they said I could pick up the pistol, back ground check was completed but there was a little problem! My gun was picked up and we would have to change the paperwork to a different serial number. Has anyone had an experience like that. I think I will use that FFL in that post today.

So I went up to wildcat mountain today and got a fire for being on Clackamas county land. Silly me didnt know it was Clackamas land and some one knocked the sign down. How do I know I went far enough in to not run in to this situation again?

Please repost this in "Outdoor Shooting Areas" or in the "Off Topic" forum, you'll likely get more responses. It seems to me, from map, the best I can tell is all of that area around Wildcat Mountain is in Clackamas County? It's been awhile since I've been up there but it was pretty obvious where people can shoot. You got to be up there within a couple miles or so of end-of-the-road.
Is gooseneck open currently

Can someone tell me a little about the shooting qualification requirements for joining Tri County Gun Range? I've heard that it's open sights .22 pistol on a gun that the club supplies.
e.g. How many yards away do you shoot from?how big is the target? Do most TCGC applicants find it difficult?

Thanks ahead of time everyone!

I did the qualification a year ago. They have you shoot at a blank piece of standard white copy paper at 50 feet. Anywhere on the paper counts. Just have to land 4 out of 5 shots. It's pretty straight forward. Just pay attention to the rules.

With that said I was amazed at the amount of guys in the classroom who "claimed" to be shooters and failed the marksman test.

I have since let my membership go.

Shooting is with a .22 pistol, I think it was a Glock and also you shoot with a Ruger 10/22 rifle.
It takes place at their indoor rimfire range. Distance was 25 yards if I recall correctly.
Target was an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper - pretty easy to hit.

You'll have an RSO watching your every move, so be on top of your muzzle discipline, trigger finger discipline and your cold range/hot range discipline. Safe behavior is paramount.

Every firearm is cased. When it's time to go shoot, you grab a case and look for an open shooting station.
The way they do it is not orderly, surprisingly. It's everyone for themselves - a little chaotic I thought.
You grab a case and either wait your turn or get to an open shooting station.

Hey I was driving up to go shooting and saw that wolf creek was closed for work. Any news as to what they're improving over there? And when will they be done and the place open again? Real excited to see what it'll look like when they're done! For now I'm just shooting at salmon berry.

Is wolf creek back open yet? I can't imagine there's much fire danger going into October now. Lol

It's still dry, and I think it's likely to still be closed
I have a S&W model 60 that requires a new frame lug. A previous owner must used a file to grind down the edge. Now the cylinder does not stop. I purchased a new stainless frame lug and can provide it. Thanks Greg 503-515-2424

I can replace the frame lug, yes.
I would like my badge and name engraved on a glock slide.

Thanks for reaching out! Sadly we don't have the equipment or staff w/ engraving experience, I would recommend checking in with Vernonia Machine works, BYE Engraving, or Blazin Hydrographics.
Is Wolf Creek currently open? This is July 2025. I've heard it's been closed.

As far as I know it is? But we haven't been up there since last Sep./Oct. on a mushroom foray.
Are you still in business? The website and phone number aren't working.
What are the prices? What are the REQUIREMENTS?

All your answers are right here....

It was $25.00/hour. Ammo as not too terribly expensive compared to, say, Bimart.
