Box fed magazines on shotguns have been around for a while. However, they've always been a minority; the tube fed scattergun still reigns supreme. But technological advances march ever forward.

What say you: dandy idea or a bad call? Why? What box-fed shotguns do you like? Thanks for sharing.
Never heard of a box-fed shotgun. You mean like those box fed SAW guns but in a shotgun?

While they often look fun the damn mags tend to be so big I suspect it would soon just sit in the safe. The one exception would be something like that Gen 12. Now that thing even though it would be pricey for the gun and the stamps? It looks like it would be wicked fun for a long time!
From responses sounds like this is about mag-fed shotguns. 10 round mags can fit in chest holder or blue force ten speed ar10 without any trouble and the mags cost $25. I suppose you could also couple 2 10 rounders together but I've never done that. Drums are spendy though but have 25+1, 20+1, 15+1, or 12 +1 capacity. For range use drums are my favorite cuz there is just nothing like dumping a nearly whole box of shotgun shells at 300 rounds per minute. For range use I treat just like any other mag except they take up more room.

As far as technology there is no comparison to tube fed. Just like one would say there is no comparison to modern AR or AK type rifles to old tube/gate fed rifles in terms of technology and effectiveness. No need to learn, practice, use special loading techniques etc. it's just like shooting an AR or AK.
