Folks,

While fretting how to clean my "sealed" .22 can (since Tactical Solutions no longer offers that service), I came across a new (to me) suppressor cleaning product from Breakthrough Clean Technologies. While many of you may already be aware of this product, I invite you to watch my short video which demonstrates the product in action.

I will post the results after a range trip to shoot a handful of .17 HMR through the can, to complete the cleaning process.

Update - When I removed the can from the Breakthrough soak, I looked down the muzzle end and the baffles were absolutely SHINY! I fired ten .17 HMR rounds through it, but there was still a noticeable amount of loose debris inside. Next time, I may try a water rinse.

This stuff is pricey, but to be clear, it was worth every penny in order to change my Cascade Ti from a "throw away" can to one I'll probably have for the rest of my life. Thank you Breakthrough!

I haven't used the Suppressor Cleaner, but my experience with Breakthrough as a company is that 2 out of the 3 products I've owned of theirs leak.

With that being said, I have no complaints about the quality of the product in their bottles. Just the bottles themselves.

Glad you found a product that solves a problem for you, though. Hopefully it doesn't leak. ;)

I love the Breakthrough Suppressor cleaner so much that I bought a gallon of it. I was for a while using it diluted to 50% in my ultrasonic cleaner with no issue to clean various parts as well as baffles and suppressor bodies.

Last time I used it I ran it at full strength on a particularly filthy BCG from my Q .300blk gun. I can't remember if the BCG was phosphated or nitrided but I can tell you that whatever it was finished with...It no longer has any finish.

I used Breakthrough to clean out an old sealed 22 suppressor I own. The suppressor had been filled up enough that it was really only useful on a rifle otherwise it was baffle strikes and poor performance. I tried a day long soak and it knocked a LOT of debris loose!!!! I filled an old Nalgene bottle and let the suppressor soak for a month and it's back up and running great!!!!! Best $35 I've spent in a long time!!!

The company warns about possible finish damage and to test the product on a small spot (which I did). The finish on the Cascade Ti was untouched, so I'm guessing it isn't Ceracote, but some kind of baked on coating.

I bought my product from a local gun range. It didn't leak on their shelf, so I wasn't worried about mine. However, if I ever mail order any, I'll be sure to check for leaks.
