I snipe the Eurasian Collared doves around my place and was curious as to whether my .177 is better or worse for taking them down. Comments / experiences?
I guess the bigger question is which one is more accurate and consistant.
.177 will do ya just fine with an accurate PCP and distance well within your ability. Otherwise you're just wounding birds to fly off and die.... more often than not.
Hi. The range you of your typical shot will suggest the appropriate caliber. A .177 should be good on dove 🕊 out to 45--50yds. Past that, I'd go with 22cal. Bon Appétit.
