I have mixed feelings about Cliffs. On one hand, if you need anything reloading related, it's the place to go. On the other hand, I went there to buy a Glock 21 after I moved to Boise and even though I had my Idaho drivers license and was living in Idaho, they said they couldn't sell me a gun until I had been here for 6 months. Didn't have a law reference for me and the only one I could find was related to hunting licenses. That same day I ended up just driving down the street to Impact Guns and bought a Glock 21 there instead. No problem.

Jeff is a great guy, I have bought 5-6 pistols from him and had him do a few smithy jobs for me. Great work and he does get good stuff if you keep an eye out. He has gone above and beyond in every time I have dealt with him, held pistols for me when I was short on cash, now thats good sevice!!

Gotta admit, after buying 5-6 pistols in less than a year there, I had mixed experiences. Some good, some bad. Once trying to use my Davidsons lifetime replacement warranty they wouldnt let me trade even though I had already spoke to Davidsons and they said it was ok to trade calibers if the the caliber was not avaliable in the model I had purchased. That time every time I called I got the Wes is not around bit, so much for honoring that warranty.
Another time I had used my debit card to pay for $200 worth of a pistol, and when I noticed that the bill was $25 extra and asked Wes, he began to be loud and rude and tell me I should have known about the 3% fee for using a card! It would have been nice to have had it mentioned when I was getting ready to pay.

Bottom line is they have a great selection, but if you catch them on a bad day they may be rude and they wont honor davidsons warranties. I wont be returning again and thats sad!

The guys both at the shop in Issaquah and at the Range are great. I'm a member at their range and before it was open I always had really great service from their store. They once gave me a full refund for an AK mag that failed when I took it in to show them and they gave me a refund no questions asked. They also put some night sights on that I didn't even get from there (did buy the gun there), only charged $25 and had it done the same day. I was also really impressed the first time I went to check out the new range. I was greeted by a cute red head girl who offered to give me a tour of the range. She showed me all of the ranges and some of their plans for the spaces that weren't even finished yet. She was very thorough and friendly, it was actually really informative. Every time I go to the range it's a good experience. The guys are always helpful and friendly. Needless to say I'll be doing business with them for a long time if they keep up this great level of service.

Am on business here in Idaho Falls for a few weeks, always stop in at Ross's. I was blown away today with seeing maybe 50 pounds of Varget, Federal 210Match large rifle primers, Berger bullets, just an incredible powder/bullet/ammunition selection. This place beats anything in the Portland Metro area hands down for ammo. Bulk pistol/rifle, you name it. I got 2000 primers, some Varget, some .308 chamber brushes, 9mm 115FMJ ammo. Kid in a candy store. I know Idaho Falls is kinda in the boondocks but make it a point to stop in.

Can't recommend Jim's Gunsmithing, unfortunately. He recommended a repair on one of my pistols that another gunsmith said was unnecessary. The other smith took the time to show me exactly why it was not needed. Not a great first experience with a gunsmith. I have no way of knowing if he does good work, I wouldn't really trust him though.

He has a nice little shop, but his prices are pretty high. I had him price a gun for me once and he was over a hundred dollars more than other places. He also fed me a line of bull about how his supplier had some kind of exclusive on this firearm, and tried to pressure a sale. I really don't like that kind of crap.

Rated Very Good.

Have purchased a majority of my firearms at mazama - all of them which have not been private sales exempting a pawn shop 10/22, and likely will continue to do so.

Prices are, as stated above, decent to slightly higher than average, and your milage can WIDELY vary. Generally, the guns seem to be at the going rate with an understandable slight store markup, but there have on occasion been some insane markdowns on certain firearms for no readily apparent reason other than perhaps proof of divine providence, or clerk's ignorance of retail value and sales tactics. Har har. Great selection of rifles, steady collection of new and used handguns.

Only prices that seem truly over the board are their black rifles, which seem to invariably be in the 12 hundred range, no matter the make, but I haven't examined their entire inventory of such so again, YMMV. They are very service member friendly, and for any devil dogs in Eugene, particularly from the WW2 generation, there is an amazing Camp Perry matched set by Springfield of engraved rifle and 1911, that is running for 3k. Seems a really good deal, all things considered - but I'm no astute collector. There is a very impressive collection of rifles on the wall that I am given to understand are the collection of the owner, who I have not -knowingly- met, that are either for display or sale. Included is a gorgeous Presidential Oregon shotgun, made for my President of choice, Nixon. I've asked - not for sale.

Staff are generally great, if not exceptionally knowledgeable about niched specificities. Despite having heard rumors to the contrary before first entering, I haven't encountered any gun ninja tendencies. There is, among some of the apparent store regulars, and one or two of the staff, a gruff tendency towards us younger shooters, but I've always considered that a right earned with age.

As mentioned, firearm selection is typically very good - more importantly, diverse. Ammo is likewise - a good amount of ball and self defense brands in stock, even for more obscure calibers. Unfortunately, the stock of accessories is not as diverse, though what is carried is quality, and will serve most needs. Holsters stand out as a gap area, as the only broad selections they carry are in the Galco vein, as well as some generic kydex and Uncle Mikes stuff - but they are always willing to order stuff in.

I will likely remain a loyal Mazama customer, not because they are especially outstanding any one regard, but because of the way they remain loyal to their customer base in general. They truly have the outdoors in mind at the store, whether you are a flyfisher, a hunter, or a collector; the amount of classes and seminars they seem to put together on various outdoors subjects on a monthly basis has impressed me in the very short amount of time I've lived in Eugene, comparatively. They do a yeoman's job in representing us, as shooters and outdoors-men, to what is in many ways a hostile community in regards to firearms, and I'll take that over a slightly cheaper rifle or a more flexible salesperson any day.

Seemed to know his business and has a good selection of "stuff". Prices are somewhat high but service is really good. Good selection of reloading supplies and tools. The hours are a bit limited but he uses the days he is closed to do all the smith work he gets.

A very cool old gun shop. A lot of cowboy action stuff and fair prices. Very good selection for the size. The store itself is like stepping back in history about 100 years. Wonderful place to see.

WCA is great for customer service, I'm very happy to live down the block from them. They just told me the range should be opening in about two weeks, they'll be running discounts on membership for the first couple months.
Can't wait.

Mick is a grade-A guy, a gentleman, a real class act. I've bought many guns from him through the years and have always felt as though I got a heck of a good deal. If he doesn't have what you are looking for in stock, he'll do his best to find it for you. He's also willing to deal on occasion, especially on his used stock. He's open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, although he does close for shows from time to time. It's always a good day when I've stopped in to see Mick.

Excellent selection and very nice people, but the prices are really high.
We bought a handgun there once, only because they had a great promotion going on that gave us $100 dollars off! To give you some idea of their prices, this discount only brought the price down to about $30 below what I would consider a good price.

Love the guys who work in this place, and I think their prices-while not a bargain- are fair.

They're also opening a huge indoor gun range in Factoria pretty soon- from the brochure it looks like it's gonna kick ***!
