Far left photo is the inspiration. Oct 1972 Marine Corps Gazette. Some things are unobtanium like the early 70s flat spring buckles that's also used on Medium and Large's radio pockets, and the OD7 fabric and 2.25" webbing.
Camo Green 483 500D Cordura, webbing, trim tape. Black hardware, metal friction buckles, DOT snaps rounded rectangle loops, and ITW-Nexus D rings. 2.25" webbing with grommets were salvaged from my heavily modified woodland Large ALICE bag.
Only things left are the #00 Mil Spec grommets which have a 7/16" outside diameter (most #00 grommets have 3/8" outside diameter); their particular setting tools, and #2 Mil Spec grommets and their setting dies to use in the same bench mounted setting press that I used for the DOT Line 24 snaps.
