...and the original still better than the remakes. Although I must say I do like the remakes of "Stagecoach". I still miss The Duke.

Hi Folks, posted on it's own thread once already
Here's my current stable of lever action rifles:
Savage 99F .308 Tasco Omnivision 2X7X32 glass
Rossi 92 Carbine .357 mag (4" Rossi .357 goes with)
Marlin 30AS .30-30 Weatherby Premier 3X9X32 glass
Rossi 92 Rifle .357 mag (broken one posted last year on Calguns - 6" Astra .357 goes with)
Henry Big Boy Steele .41 mag Vortex 1X4X24 glass (6.5" Blackhawk goes with)
Had a Marlin 39, need a Ruger 96 to replace it. PAX

I have almost no idea why I bought this one...
It belonged to my boss, who passed away a year ago. It hadn't been used for years. I've had it since January and still haven't chambered a round in it, or even taken it out of the house! I have one box of ammo for it and am still not sure if I shoot it, or sell it...
Savage 99 in 300 Savage. If I remember correctly, it was made in 1951.

Not really a dream, but I'd heard about this gun and knew it was stuffed away. When I got the chance, I bought it!

1951 Savage 99 in 300 Savage. Needs a more appropriate set of rings and scope, but that can happen later.

It's guns from that era that make most guns made today feel cheap as hell.

Is it sitting on a slightly antiqued road grader?

Edit to add: Sorry, I didn't read that correctly the first time. I understand it is customer photo, so you probably wouldn't know about the road grader.

That is a fine rifle!

30-30?
@orygun, it is a 30-30. Marlin Dark 336 with a Model 336 BL stock, Midwest Industries MLOK handguard, and Hoptic USA quiver

@MTpockets I'm not sure what that is, but here's a clearer picture if you are familiar with it.

I have 2 Marlin lever actions, a 1980 39A 22, and a 2010 336ss 30-30.

My Marlin 39A is a workhorse, shooting squirrels and pests. I mostly shoot 22 shorts because they are so quiet, almost as quiet as an airgun. I have a 1980 Weaver 3x wide angle fixed scope on the 39A, and it works great out to about 75 years.

I got the 336ss 30-30 because of the bears and mountain lions going after my chickens. So far my dog has kept them away.

Sounds like the dog is efficient using the 3030 :D
