I'm working towards snagging a suppressor...but what direction to go??? Looking for first hand experiences, thoughts...and/or advice.
Currently I need to debug a 10mm SBR project (using an Angstadt Arms 1045 receiver set) which I'd like to suppress...understanding it might(?) not be the best choice for a suppressor...but I already have everything on the shelf needed to work up loads for it. I also have a .450 Bushmaster, and cartridge components for it to work with, and I'm thinking the Obsidian 45 might be a good choice to run on both the 10 mm and .450 Bushmaster...??? I'm not sure how well either cartridge will run surppressed...but if I can get either of them anywhere close nail gun noise levels with subsonic loads, I'd be a happy camper...noise being a neighborly issue here on our property. Some after the fact research indicates a .300 BLK with an appropriate suppressor and using subsonic ammunition likely would've been a much better way to go.
My question is...can the Obsidian 45 quiet the 10 mm and/or the .450 Bushmaster enough to make it worthwhile as a compromise...or do I bite the bullet and start another SBR Form 1 (I already have an unused receiver set), and build a .300 BLK to suppress, which means finding all the dies and cartridge components as well as a second SBR Stamp AND the suppressor Form 4?. (my goal being a carbine length suppressed SBR which might keep my wife happy, and won't irritate the neighbors)
I can start the suppressor Form 4 soon for the 10mm/.450 Bushmaster...or I can reset my brain and work towards the .300 BLK build for the ultimate (I think) in quiet a bit farther in the future...???
Any thoughts...or something I've missed???
