Nothing against those that do, but I don't like anything on my firearms that requires a battery.

Silly reason to miss out on a major jump in capability. the battery life on an RMR lasts longer than a lot of people own the same gun.
100% agree. With 50k hour runtimes being pretty standard it is pretty damn easy to keep the batteries full.
 
Im still ok with Irons but as I get older Im aware my eyes wont be the same. I already need prescriptions now and the front sight is getting slightly blurry. I'm still a good shot with irons, but broke down and decided to try a red dot on a custom build....
its the way to go.

Getting used to the different way to aim is interesting though. I find pressout drills really help with learning the red dot.
 
Don't you mean who isn't running a red dot (ha ha)? I'm "running" 13-14 of them on various guns.
