I've read that the 7mm-08 is a .308 necked down to 7mm caliber. Couldn't you neck your .308 down?

I know since I built my 6ARC, and you can't find much 6ARC ammo for hunting, I've taken both 7.62x39 and 6.5G cases and necked them down then trimmed the cases to fit the 6ARC case specs. That seemed to work well for me.

Wondered if you could do the same thing?

I plan to do that with some of my 7.62x51 Lake City head stamped brass. Still want 50-100 commercial original 7mm-08

I've necked down a bunch - from 7.62 brass, it doesn't work nearly as well as doing 308 Win. You wind up with thicker necks that need to be turned.
Lemme know if you make it down to Beaverton / Hillsboro area, I have some you can have.
Still need to get with you about those areas we discussed in the GP.
