Per Winchester own Official Records:Be aware the serial numbers on most sites are about 2 years off, i had a 30 30 serial # 150xxx that lettered by Cody at 1902. the only true source for correct serial numbers is the Cody museum. according to my book The Winchester 1894 there were just over 60,000 made by the turn of the century. so your gun was made in 1902. what does the front sight look like?

Not an expert in any way, but I do believe the very best source for finding info on these rifles is the Winchester Collector's Forum.
Beautiful!
Good looking carbine, what caliber?
It is a rare pleasure to view an unadorned old relic like that.
the upper tang shape was changed at about serial#1 500 000Something to consider here it the tang of the receiver.
Not all eras of 1894's have the same shape , and such.
If you do look for a replacement butt stock...look for one that is made to fit your era 1894.
The same is to be said for the butt plate.

They like to have people list their rifles on their survey forums.
Through reading their surveys I was lucky to determine that my M 94 Carbine 20" barrel, .30WCF was manufactured in late Dec '41-early Jan '42
WTH? A take down?I have at least one of each caliber, 25-35, 30-30, 32-40, .32 Win Special, and 38-55. I would like to downsize some as well, I need a 66, 73 and a 86 as well
I do have my dads old repo Iron Henry in 44-40
These are a couple of project guns,
Both 25-35
