friendly
Friendly fire is an euphemism for a failed or misguided attack by a military force on friendly or neutral troops while attempting to attack the enemy. Examples include misidentifying the target as hostile, cross-fire while engaging an enemy, long range ranging errors or inaccuracy. Accidental fire not intended to attack the enemy, and deliberate firing on one's own troops for disciplinary reasons, is not called friendly fire, and neither is unintentional harm to civilians or structures, which is sometimes referred to as collateral damage. Training accidents and bloodless incidents also do not qualify as friendly fire in terms of casualty reporting.Use of the term "friendly" in a military context for allied personnel started during the First World War, often when shells fell short of the targeted enemy. The term friendly fire was originally adopted by the United States military; S.L.A. Marshall used the term in Men Against Fire in 1947. Many North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) militaries refer to these incidents as blue on blue, which derives from military exercises where NATO forces were identified by blue pennants and units representing Warsaw Pact forces by red pennants. In classical forms of warfare where hand-to-hand combat dominated, death from a "friendly" was rare, but in industrialized warfare, deaths from friendly fire are common.
I know you get what you pay for and I know good glass may cost as much if not more than the rifle itself; but any personal recommendations for a budget friendly 3-9x40MM duplex scope? Gonna use for up to 600 yards. Thanks for any advice and info given.
So. I know for AR15 barrels its largely "you get what you pay for"; but.. just spitballing here..
So budget friendly barrels..

The Gen. 1 is a masterful interpretation of what a pistol should be; a utilitarian, reliable tool that doesn't look like it was pulled from a claw...
just trying to make people aware that you can buy a $40-$100 dash cam and it can save you loads of trouble. Otherwise it's your word against theirs. Before we sent in the video to their insurance it was in a semi-permanent state of limbo because the at-fault party simply wouldn't answer the...
One key element of situational awareness is the rapid and reliable ability to distinguish a potential or active threat, from an innocent person, law enforcement personnel, or other friendly. This skill is even more necessary in a high pressure situation that calls for split-second decision...
Friendly debate on this 20 year old guy’s looks. My wife and I can both agree the lady is a solid 9 or 10 however we have massive differing viewpoints on the guy. Rate him 1 through 10, 10 being best looking and settle the debate for us. 👌
Backstory- My daughters and wife were watching a TV...
I’m trying to feel out some offers; I have a gently used, maybe 100 rounds fired through the tube, Dickinson Marine Tactical 12 gauge pump action shotgun with a 20”barrel. I bought It from a NWFA member last year who never got around to shooting it. Has a ghost ring rear sight and fiber optic...
At 21:50 (9:50pm) I had a knock at my door, I live rural and it is not normal at all. A Hispanic individual was at the front door asking about a wrong address regarding a pit bull dog. Through the front door I told him he had the wrong address, he insisted this was the place. I replied, wrong...

I picked this up from the original owner in like new condition. I've put a few hundred rounds through it and has functioned perfectly. Soft shooting, comfortable and a phenomenal trigger. All factory original with two 10 round magazines, extra backstrap and reversible magazine button...
I see with this new version it shows 'similar threads' on the bottom when a current thread is opened.
Most of these are older so I am just suggesting to everyone BEFORE POSTING to one of these threads to look at the date of the thread, especially the date of the last post as it may no longer be...
Thinking about moving out of SE Portland and a bit away from city preferably. I have found a few online sites for roommates/rooms for rent, but Portland being Portland.....I don't think the majority are 2A friendlyor even politically friendly.
Any leads on sites/places from anyone?
Thanks!
In case anyone is not aware, it doesn't cost you a nickle to sign up for the Amazon Smile donation program where a portion of what you buy gets donated to a recipient of your choosing. I'd chosen OFEF. Is there a better one? I received this today via amazon. Is there a better gun organization...
