The ArmaLite AR-15 is a select-fire, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed rifle manufactured in the United States between 1959 and 1964, and adopted by the United States Armed Forces as the M16 rifle. Designed by American gun manufacturer ArmaLite in 1956, it was based on its AR-10 rifle. The ArmaLite AR-15 was designed to be a lightweight rifle and to fire a new high-velocity, lightweight, small-caliber cartridge to allow infantrymen to carry more ammunition.
In 1959, ArmaLite sold its rights to the AR-15 to Colt due to financial difficulties and limitations in terms of manpower and production capacity. After modifications (most notably, the charging handle was re-located from under the carrying handle like AR-10 to the rear of the receiver), Colt rebranded it the Colt 601, however it still carried the Armalite markings due to contractual obligations to Armalite/Fairchild Aircraft Co. Colt marketed the redesigned rifle to various military services around the world and it was subsequently adopted by the U.S. military as the M16 rifle, which went into production in March 1964.Colt continued to use the AR-15 trademark for its line of semi-automatic-only rifles marketed to civilian and law-enforcement customers, known as Colt AR-15. The Armalite AR-15 is the parent of a variety of Colt AR-15 and M16 rifle variants.
Sometimes its bad/good idea ordering parts to build something with leftovers you didn't need.
I ordered a 224 Valk upper and didn't need the bolt then I realize 224 Valk shares its rim with 10mm and I've been enjoying my G21 converted to 10MM. I've also enjoyed having a G21 and an AR45 blowback...
For sale/trade is Palmetto State Armory PA-X9 chambered in 9mm. The lower was purchased as a complete lower from PSA and the upper was purchased as a complete upper for PSA. The barrel is marked 1/10 for twist rate. It is a billet lower that uses Glock magazines. I've had this carbine for 4-5...
In like-new/excellent condition. I'm also including a set of counterfeit Magpul MBUS sites. I didn't know they were fake when I bought them. They actually look and function great, but you can tell when you compare them side-by-side with real Magpul MBUS sights. Still great for a budget AR build...
I acquired this for my M27 clone:
Adams Arms piston drive
16" P3 bbl
H2 buffer
69 gn IMI ammo
David Tubb flat wire spring
I was happy with this rifle, just wanted to try something new - sitting here board in my retirement
installed the Geissele Super 42 spring with proprietary Geissele H2...
This is a lightly used 9mm AR15 built by Rock River Arms. I bought it used and have owned it seven years and shot it one time, so it's time to go. Extremely clean with minimal scuff marks. One nick on the right side to the rear of the rear take down pin can be seen in the pic. Has a Troy...
