Lost focus for a second yesterday while helping the wife pull a trap and let the boat get blown into a kelp bed. Ended up ingesting some chopped up bits into the water intake and the pee hole got clogged. Had to pick up the rest of the string and motor back to the dock on the kicker. Made the going slow and it was fairly rough out.

Good thing you have a kicker. Having auxiliary power is worth the cost! The going may be slow, but you won't get trapped or drift into a really dangerous situation.

Father inlaw insists that a kicker is essential for big water. However, I'm still trying to convince him that a little spare gas is worth having onboard as well.
