Look for straight up replacement scales too.

I'll look into that! I never even considered something like that when I bought it.

I don't either but, guess the originals could be considered a survival knife by the users?! They'd make good choppers.I don't think of them as camp/survival knives.

Uuuum?Waiting patiently for @Andy54Hawken 's 5".
I'm not a Benchmade fan but, that is definitely one of their better looking designs!View attachment 888394
Benchmade Arvensis, the best fixed blade I've ever used.
Not too big, not too small,, just right.
The 154 CM steel is a good choice for this type of knife.
That looks close to the Gerber Ultimate, except for the pommel (the Gerber has a hammer pommel):I use my el cheapo Firebird all the time. Have multiples of them in cars and camp sets. including the original I bought when they first came out that has seen many backpacking trips. After I vetted the first, I bought the others. Great knife. Pic from internet.

Not sure why it loaded two but, anyway, that knife would look good with a flint package to go with it.
Pretty sure you are correct. I've got one of the Gerbers too. Bear Grills one. Great knife. That looks close to the Gerber Ultimate, except for the pommel (the Gerber has a hammer pommel):

Actually, looking at the youtube reviews, it is obviously a copy of the Gerber, many similar features. The Gerber is about $10-$15 more depending on where you can find it in stock, and I like the Gerber better, but to each their own.
Yeah, I have several of the inexpensive BG folder sheath knives (I paid $16 each) that are the same/similar pattern blade, which I prefer. Not bulletproof, but not fragile "Chinese junk" some have said they are either. Now that I am retired I have one of these on my belt most of the time.Pretty sure you are correct. I've got one of the Gerbers too. Bear Grills one. Great knife.
