Gorgeous! Is that an optical illusion, or are the cartridges in the sling smaller than the ones on the buttstock? This was sent to us by Buffalo Brand Leather to use in one of our blog posts using a set of our rings

It's optical because of the camera angle.Gorgeous! Is that an optical illusion, or are the cartridges in the sling smaller than the ones on the buttstock?
That would look good on my M99.This was sent to us by Buffalo Brand Leather to use in one of our blog posts using a set of our rings

Is it sitting on a slightly antiqued road grader?
Edit to add: Sorry, I didn't read that correctly the first time. I understand it is customer photo, so you probably wouldn't know about the road grader.
@orygun, it is a 30-30. Marlin Dark 336 with a Model 336 BL stock, Midwest Industries MLOK handguard, and Hoptic USA quiverThat is a fine rifle!
30-30?
Ain't that the truth? It's guns from that era that make most guns made today feel cheap as hell.
Sounds like the dog is efficient using the 3030I have 2 Marlin lever actions, a 1980 39A 22, and a 2010 336ss 30-30.
My Marlin 39A is a workhorse, shooting squirrels and pests. I mostly shoot 22 shorts because they are so quiet, almost as quiet as an airgun. I have a 1980 Weaver 3x wide angle fixed scope on the 39A, and it works great out to about 75 years.
I got the 336ss 30-30 because of the bears and mountain lions going after my chickens. So far my dog has kept them away.
