(Okay, so we were hunting for all of the things we set down somewhere and forgot during the day.)

I will say that I get where you're coming from and don't totally disagree with you. When I look at my adult children today I'm glad I'm not in their shoes. I took the path of my parents generation in life and found a decent paying job and stuck with it. I thought it would be the safe way to get through life, because of the benefits and retirement but as I get closer I see that the old system is collapsing on itself and that pension may not be there when I arrive. I do not know what to tell my kids about the way to succeed in the financial side of the world these days. They witnessed the life I traded for what I have now and while I'm not bad off i'm still living paycheck to paycheck. The socialist system we built is collapsing due to things that are out of the control of you and I. It was great for my parents and their's but it's not so great for those of us holding the debt. We will all suffer the consequences of the decisions made by leaders of this experiment we call America, all of us. I don't believe that my children will have a better life than me. I live in a house I couldn't afford to buy at todays price and they pay as much for rent as I do my mortgage! I believe we are on the decline if things continue on the way they are. I think everyone knows that, we just are at odds on what we have to do to fix it. On the plus side I have my faith and that carries me through. I will tell you not to give up, there's been a lot of hardship for common folks like you and I in the past. America was once a great place to live and it can be again if people can find common goals and will pull together. Keep fighting for your children's sake!I do as much as I can to avoid doing this. I've had a picture painted my whole life of living in my own home, and regardless of what other people do or don't have, I've had to accept the fact that it's unobtainable to purchase a sufficient home for myself, my wife and 4 children on a roughly $45k income. I've also been told by many people we don't deserve to make that much to begin with. Overall, I'm just speaking to this issue of discontent from my personal perspective. Maybe I take wifi and cell phones for granted and I should live without them to be "more successful", but it sure would make communications with the schools difficult, and my children's online homework would be neglected. I guess having these amenities has increased the standard of living, as you say and I very well may take those for granted. I'd just like to see a standard of living exist where a job that pays 150% of minimum wage could pay for a house and feed a family. Some folks might take those things for granted.
Very well put. When I look around I see too many people that only care about themselves. I get made fun of, or picked on in ways, because I think about others and feel bad for people that work their asses off and still can't get ahead. I'm not only uneasy and angry for myself, I feel bad for many others at the same time.I will say that I get where you're coming from and don't totally disagree with you. It looks pretty dark for America on the current road ahead. I only hope I'm gone before it gets completely dark.
Yes, there's actually a term for this, and a certain type of personality that enjoys or even thrives in chaos.Sometimes people don't have anger problems, they just like to see chaos and watch it swirl around. Even in chaos there is order.
WT-everlovin'-F is that s'pozed to mean?
It does, it reminds me a lot of boomers, politicians and those anti-gunners.Yes, there's actually a term for this, and a certain type of personality that enjoys or even thrives in chaos.

Awww.... what's wrong with squirrels? Except when they're fighting or pooping in places they ought not be... they can even be surprisingly affectionate, for some reason Lefty seems to really like sitting on my foot wile getting her morning peanuts, and has been known to run up and hug my calf for no visible reason.
I usually call it a night at 8pm... because I frequently have to be up at midnight for telecons. (Head Office is in Italy.)Sleeping is for sissies and sane people.
