Advice sought: EDC Chest Pocket Flashlight AAA

I had since about 2012 a "4Sevens Preon 1, R5, Flashlight; Black; 70 OTF lumens; 1xAAA"
apparently no longer available, least not where I have been looking.

I misplaced this little guy whose location has been my shirt pocket for the past 6 years.

What can I get as a similar size/weight/reliability/quality?



I have a Fenix E12 Flashlight Pocket-Sized bright flashlight 130 Lumens, but this is too large for my shirt pocket.

Look at the Streamlight Microstream USB. It's rechargeable via USB, 250 lumens on high and the size is what you are looking for. I carry one daily:

I have a Fenix E12 as well and the Streamlight is a lot lighter and smaller diameter.

Love the Fenix lights, I prefer the rechargeable variety. Also carry a charged up battery for recharging my stuff when I'm in the woods.

Good light, but that's a lot larger than the OP is looking for. If the E12 is too big, the RC11 is WAY too big.

Why go for 100 lumens when you can have 50/250 and rechargeable?

The product spec on the Streamlight Microstream USB shows a minimum of 50 lumens.

That is probably too bright. The Fenix LD02 has an 8 lumen low setting - which for my daily use is probably better - light up a menu, look for something in a bag etc.

There is also a V2 for the LD02 ...
Microstream battery (AAA) 66318 which has a 45 lumen rating (no where near the 250 of the rechargeable)

Then I need to make sure I don't get the wrong model. And, sites are warning of knock-offs being sold on Amazon.

Through Surefire's website. When they dropped it to twenty bucks on black Friday I got 8 of them. Now they're 25, which isn't bad either. Link posted above.

Put it in the lathe and cut another groove so I could attach the clip st the other end so I can wear it on my hat for hands free use.

I really like the Olight lights. I have an i3e on my keychain and an i3t on my belt. Both are 1xAAA. I use rechargeable batteries but you can drop in an alkaline if that's all that's available.

Both are under $15.
