This store has a great crew! I've been there dozens of times and this team is always friendly, and willing to help. Always helpful even when crowded and busy.
No one or two-box limit for ammo sales, assuming it's in stock!
Good selection of equipment, parts, and firearms. And ammo, before the China-virus, with more new ammo coming to their shelves all the time now.
Talk to them ahead of time if you need an FFL transfer; they have a process.
Where I go for my local AR parts with a good supply. I stop in at least once a month. Always having the time to ask if they can help you find something, plenty of staff.
Great shop with friendly staff, and a lot of selection of quality name brand parts (no Amazon crap from China). I enjoy coming in and browsing and have done quite a bit of business with them.
Been here many times, purchased a few lowers, parts and accessories. Have also used them twice for online firearm purchases. Everything went smooth, no hassle. Friendly staff and wide selection of quality stuff.
Needed an AR15 barrel shim kit and an end plate, couldn't find them locally any place I called, and just happened to give them a call. The gal that answered gave me a great first impression to the shop. Went in needing $10-15 in small parts, left spending close to $500. Prices seem maybe 10% higher than online, but I'd rather pay a LGS my money.
Sent a few firearms thought them, they great staff. Even Durning Wuhan flu they have Ben excellent! They are not yet registered with silencershop, for the kiosk they would be awesome if they did that!
I went in a few times, prices run high but they have rare items from time to time. I don't like rare stuff and these guys price those items well out of my price range.
Noticed I get better help if I'm not in my dirty work clothes which is a shame because multiple times I have taken my money other places instead of here.
Seen it from the highway a few times, so made the effort to go in yesterday lunchtime- What an awesome store !
Big, bight, well laid out, with a fantastic selection of parts, spare mags, other accessories.
I'd be a lot happier if they were closer to the Couve but they are definitely worth the drive
Friendly staff and very competitive prices on ammo and accessories. My only advice is if you're coming from up here in Vancouver or parts north is to call them if you're wanting something specific. Like a case of ammo. They were out of the 200 round cases of .300 AAC so I got even with them by cleaning their shelves of the individual boxes of ammo. Hah!
It is a drive, but worth it
As a recent owner of a PTR91 a friend mentioned to me that Oregon Rifleworks has surplus magazines on hand for $3.99ea. I drove from Vancouver to Tigard (The drive possibly being the only negative) to see for myself and sure enough it was true. I was greated by friendly employee who also helped me out in sourcing a Railscales handstop. Overall it was a great day, the store is large with many items on hand. I will defintely be a return customer.
This shop is first-rate. I like to support local shops, the kind of people who will be there for sales and service when you need them. Nothing against mail-order outfits, but the local shops are ones who are helping to sustain and build the responsible firearms culture at the local level. These guys go the extra mile. They had a customer-meets-industry BBQ event this last summer, which is just one example of how they are supporting the gun community.
It's heavy on the ARs, but that is their specialty and their expertise. I wish they had more used guns---it's always nice to find something unexpected or unusual, but there's always gun shows for that. Oregon Rifleworks is thoroughly professional, well stocked, well run.
Pretty good selection of AR parts and accessories, good deals on bulk ammo, decent prices through out the store!
Cons
None!
Stopped in right after opening, impressed with the initial selection, and every visit after has been an improvement on what started out better then I thought! Overall great experience, good selection, friendly staff, and good ammo supply at good prices! Worth the hour drive for me!
Parking lot can be tricky to get to off of main st
I may be a little biased since my dad has worked there since before opening but the store is great. I've never been ignored or had to wait for help when browsing. Everyone I've dealt with has been friendly and humble (no pretentious remarks). If they don't have it they will get you a price and order it without much hassle. The firearm selection is diverse enough to set it apart from most stores (still to date the only place that I've been that has had a CMMG Banshee AR pistol). They even do layaway. What's not to like?
Recently purchased a rifle from them, dealing with Josh. Ordered one thing and a NOS model appeared instead. Josh jumped right on it, made the fix and ordered the correct model in for me.
Will definitely buy from them again in the future.
I found Oregon Rifleworks because I used to take public transit to Tigard and the Wes stops off throwing distance from their shop. In looking for a place to purchase a firearm, they had great reviews.
I called to see if they had inventory on a rifle and handgun and they told me that they did but it was reserved for active duty military or LE, but they could order them in for me. Their prices for both items were less than the MSRP, so I opted to have them order things in. It only took a day or two for the firearms to arrive! Impressive!
Completing the sale was easy as well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I will gladly purchase through them again.
That being said, I'm knocking a star off this review for the Transfer and Background fee ($35 total), as it's not really all that competitive and for branding themselves as a home for a given manufacturer's products but then having only a very limited stock, such that they reserved that stock.
It has been a while since I have been in the store just because I don't get to downtown Tigard very often. But last time I was in, I was impressed with the big store and lots of good stuff available. The staff was friendly and helpful and the prices seemed competitive for what I looked at. I would certainly stop by again if I am in the neighborhood.
Oregon Rifle Works is my go to shop on the west side of the Portland area. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great inventory of AR parts and accessories. They have a good selection of long guns and their prices are good. I buy a lot of ammo there for non common calibers like .30 Carbine and .303 British and their prices are very good on that stuff. Awesome people to deal with.
