Amazing, Mr. Osborn responded rather quickly...Rather unusual but a plus for the response.
Here's his response:
"It's a term for violence involving guns. It's a very common term for acts of violence that include guns. No one is saying an inanimate object is violent here and I myself am a gun owner. The term doesn't offend me at all."

Dan
So, that would mean we have:
Crowbar violence
Baseball bat violence
Rock violence
Fist violence
Hammer violence
Knife violence

And on and on and on...

I'm a gun owner too and I find the term gun violence to be very offensive, as do
I the term "assault weapon"

If I defend myself with a so called "assault weapon"... wouldn't it become a "defend weapon"?

An object has 0 influence on how its used. You could speak of "assault vase" or "assault candleholder" "assault truck"...what a bunch of bs

They just use those terms to make it sound more scary to people without knowledge.
