Where I grew up, we had ice cream vendor trucks that went around neighborhoods. Mostly Good Humor, but there was one independent. He was an older peg leg (really) man named Mack. In 1960, he bought a new GMC with the 305 cu. in. V-6 engine, the first V-6 I ever saw. His truck was all new, the custom box on the back had lots of chrome on it, US flags flying on the nose of the vehicle, special musical horn, what a rig.
