Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Has anyone tried to nickel plate a gun part or any metal part at home? is it as easy as the youtube videos show? All you need is nickel, white vinegar, and a DC power supply. I'm curious enough to try it a few parts.
As with all surface finishes, you get out of it what you put into it. Clean your parts, then clean them again. When you're done with that, clean them again. Wear gloves. Pay attention to what your doing. Change your gloves, then clean your parts again.
Follow the directions closely. Do some sacrificial parts before the ones you want done right. Get the process down.
